Yesterday the RTA was proud to participate in AccessChicago at Navy Pier. AccessChicago is Chicago’s only event that brings together more than 100 of Chicagoland’s top disability-related service providers, product merchandisers, assistive technology suppliers and recreational exhibitors under one roof!

RTA interns from CPS high schools had the opportunity to learn a lot about the services we provide the disability community and had a chance to meet with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Commissioner Karen Tamley of the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities!

AccessChicago allowed people to test products, learn about new and existing services and connect with community organizations to learn about available disability-related social services. There were new activities such as cooking demos and interactive therapeutic art sessions. Attendees also were allowed to take part in various adaptive sports and recreational demonstrations and receive free health screenings.

It was a successful event, and we cannot wait to participate in 2020.
