Story Maps Help Riders Learn About RTA Work

February 21, 2017

The work of the RTA benefits the region, though much of what the RTA does from day-to-day is not easily seen by our riders.

Two members of our staff have found a creative way to help share that information. In the RTA’s Data Services & Analytics Department, Brad Thompson and Hersh Singh are known for using mapping technology in innovative ways.

In our case, this means using ESRI Story Maps to show you where we’ve done work in your area. These engaging and attractive applications help tell our story beyond just text or a map; they allow users to interact with content by exploring maps and media. Story Maps are a simple yet a powerful tool to inform and engage people in any story that involves maps or geographic locations. Brad and Hersh have found an interesting way for us to share information about how we fund local projects around the region to promote and enhance transit use.
