If you’re staying in town to celebrate the Fourth of July, we're reminding riders that public transportation is the way to go. Public transportation offers a fast and convenient way to get around to all of the Fourth of July fun and festivities.

Riders can use the RTA Trip Planner to plan travel and select routes with ADA accessible services, when necessary.  Our trip planner is the only online site in the region that provides a variety of options for getting around by using transit, walking, bicycling and driving. • Fourth of July Fireworks at Navy Pier - Watch the sky light up during a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to a patriotic score. Set along beautiful Lake Michigan, visitors can enjoy cozy up on Navy Pier’s dock, 600 E. Grand Ave. on July 4 and take in the sights and sounds of the festivities. • 57th Annual Fourth of July Celebration - Commemorate our nation’s independence at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N Clark St, from 10 a.m. to noon on July 4. Enjoy time-honored traditions, family festivities, and a speech about Independence Day. Patriotic musical performances, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a children’s parade led by the World’s Tallest Uncle Sam will close the event.
